One afternoon in December 1998 someone drove into my parked car, leaving the front of the car smashed up and sitting on the ground. I discovered this shortly before my appointment for my first ever Reiki treatment.

As I was a student at the time, without much spare cash, I had insured my car for only third party damage. There was no note left.

I knew almost nothing about Reiki at that time. So, I felt quite awed on sharing my pain at the clinic that day when the Reiki practitioner smilingly assured me that Reiki is magic and that I might just find that after the treatment, the situation with my car would resolve itself.

After my Reiki session, I returned to where my car had been hit. It occurred to me then to knock on one of the doors in the street. I picked one. Immediately a man answered, holding a piece of paper on which he had written down the details of the vehicle that had driven into my car before driving off.

The insurance money I was then able to claim covered my MOT fixes too. My love of Reiki had begun…

Indian head massage

What is it?

Practised in India traditionally among family members for the past 5,000 years, Indian head massage is a therapeutic seated massage of the head, neck, shoulders, upper back, upper arms, and face.

Just as a reflexology treatment on your feet works on the whole of your body because all your organs are linked through energy pathways (called meridians) to points on your feet—so an Indian head massage has the same effect, as your organs are similarly linked to areas of your head.

  • Relieving headaches
  • Aiding the removal of toxins, so helping to prevent illness

  • Stimulating circulation

Sekhem

What is it?

Sekhem is a powerful, relaxing healing energy similar to Reiki, but which has its origins in ancient Egypt rather than in Japan.

Sekhem means ‘power of powers,’ and is closely related to the ancient Egyptian lioness goddess Sekhmet, who was considered by the ancient Egyptians to be the goddess of destruction and healing. She is the daughter of the sun god Ra.

Benefits

  • Relaxation
  • Empowerment
  • Connection with ancient Egypt
  • Experience of a sacred energy little-known in the western world
