Steven Bye

Meet the Team

From civil servant to holistic therapist, Steve Bye has experienced quite a journey. When conventional medicine couldn’t solve his health issues, Steve began to explore alternative options and discovered a whole new world.

Steve is a highly popular therapist at Anahata, frequently described as calm, friendly and reliable. He’s very supportive of his fellow therapists, and eager to experience different treatments. We happen to know he’s a keen infrared and ozone sauna user too!

Tell us about the therapies you provide at Anahata.

I offer deep tissue massage, sports massage, therapeutic massage, aromatherapy massage and reflexology. I have been practicing for 15 years now, having qualified in 2006.

I’m pleased to participate in the Anahata BeWell scheme, where members can access low-cost treatments.

What led you to become a therapist?

I was originally a civil servant, but started experiencing health issues that conventional medicine could not fully improve. It was then I discovered complementary therapy and experienced the benefits of massage, reflexology and acupuncture.

After achieving much improved health through these therapies, I decided to choose that as my career path. Once qualified, I joined the team of therapists at Anahata Health Clinic. I was attracted to this particular clinic as I work with such a great team of talented individuals and share the clinic’s ethos of offering affordable therapy to the local community.

What benefits do you see for your clients?

Well, for any form of massage, benefits will include a relief from muscular knots and tension, improved circulation and lymph flow. Massage has been proven to boost your white blood cell count by 70%, so a definite boost for your immunity. You should also feel very relaxed after the treatment and have a clear sense of enhanced wellbeing.

Reflexology, as a whole body therapy accessed mainly through the feet, has the ability to promote healing in all areas of the mind and body, for example digestive issues or anxiety.

My work helps with a wide range of issues, encompassing physical and mental health. Because I offer a range of therapies, I think I have most things covered!

What can people expect when they come for a session with you?

On a first visit, I will initially ask some questions, but above all listen to what the client has to say. Hopefully we can treat those issues with the appropriate therapy. After each session I like to think I have improved the overall wellbeing of my client.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I love tennis and I’m a member of my local club. Dog walking also takes up a lot of my spare time!
