The Code of Safe Practice ensures that all needles used are single use, pre-sterilised and disposable. Hypnotherapy

The use of hypnosis to achieve weight loss has become very popular. Hypnotherapy can induce a state of relaxation affecting both your body and mind, where a therapist focuses on identifying the root cause of why we overeat to address the negative thought processes that lead to overeating. It helps determine what triggers the unwanted behaviour and focuses on replacing those habits with more positive ones. Once the root cause is determined, the hypnotherapist can reframe subconscious thoughts around eating and emotions and change the way you have looked at food your whole life. Diet and exercise are great and can achieve good results alone in the short term, but they don’t address your relationship with food, exercise and what triggers you, allowing for long-term changes to your lifestyle.

How does it work?

Hypnosis or trance is a naturally occurring process in everyday thoughts and actions. It can be defined as a focused state of attention during which wider distractions are ignored. For example, have you ever been engrossed in an interesting book or a fascinating film to the point that you almost forget everything else happening around you? Or perhaps you have been driving from one place to another but realised you can’t actually remember how you got there? In hypnosis, you can still think logically but you also have access to the ‘software’ of your mind so that you can update instinctive emotional and physical responses.

What can I expect from a session?

Throughout your session, you will remain completely aware and in control of everything that is going on. In fact, many people experience a hyper-awareness where sounds appear richer, thoughts become clearer and your ability to imagine and visualise is far greater in this state.

Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health. Practitioners use a wide range of tools to assess and identify nutritional imbalances that may be affecting your weight and understand how these may contribute to weight gain or difficulty losing weight. This approach allows them to work with clients to fully understand your unique circumstances and goals and devise a personalised plan with dietary and lifestyle changes that you can incorporate into your life. 

How does it work?

Practitioners look at each person individually, sometimes assessing their state of health or imbalance with a test or screening machine, and then recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes.

What can I expect from a session? 

Before the first consultation, the practitioner usually provides a health and nutrition questionnaire for the client to complete. An initial consultation typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes, and in this time the practitioner asks detailed questions about current health concerns, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, medical history, family history, lifestyle, levels of physical activity, use of medication and supplements and diet. The practitioner then evaluates individual needs and develops a personalised, safe and effective nutrition and lifestyle programme.

One follow-up consultation is necessary in order to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments. Further follow-ups may be required depending on each individual situation.

Lymphatic drainage massages are a popular choice, especially for clients who cannot exercise regularly, as they are an alternative way to release toxins and dispose of waste in the body. Believe it or not, a lot of this excess waste, including water retention, contributes to the weight your body carries. So while lymphatic drainage massage won’t rid your body of fat, it can help you lose pounds, reduce cellulite and kickstart the fat loss process by giving you more energy.

How does it work?

A lymphatic drainage massage uses a machine that applies light pressure and rhythmic movements to stimulate the lymph flow, helping to eliminate waste by naturally disposing of excess fluid and toxins, enhancing circulation and breaking down fat within the body. Regular massages may, in conjunction with diet and exercise, help facilitate and speed up the weight loss process.
